About Our Stall Mat Products
Manufacturing Processes
100% Recycled Products – 100% recycled rubber – mostly from millions of scrap car and truck tires – promoting environmentally friendly practices that help conserve energy and decrease the impacts of pollution.
Vulcanization – In the vulcanization process, rubber is chemically treated to give it greater strength, elasticity, and stability. In fact, vulcanized rubber is about 10 times stronger and 10 times more rigid than natural rubber.
Re-Vulcanization – In this process, devulcanized recycled rubber crumb from recycled rubber tires go through the vulcanization process again, chemically bonding the rubber under extreme pressure and heat to create the most durable and dense mat possible.
- Advantages of using re-vulcanized rubber:
Masticated Rubber – Our masticated rubber sheets and rolls are fully cured and fiber-reinforced from tire manufacturing by-products, including uncured rubber and nylon fiber. This unique process results in higher tensile strength, tear strength, resilience, wear characteristics, ozone resistance, low temperature resistance, and durability.
Masticated rubber sheets and rolls are often used for applications including automotive, heavy truck, and horse trailers.
Molded Rubber – Molded rubber products are created by pressing a block of rubber into a rubber molding metal cavity. The rubber is then exposed to heat, which causes a chemical reaction. While methods vary, all rubber manufacturers use heat and pressure to form molded rubber products. The three most common methods are rubber injection molding, compression molding, and transfer molding.
Rotocuring – Short for Rotary Curing Press, Rotocuring is used for vulcanizing and curing rubber sheeting used for conveyor belts, rubber sheets and rubberized fabric.
Waterjet Cutting – In this process, a jet of water at high pressure is used to cut the rubber material, allowing extremely precise and intricate cuts. Using water minimizes the effects of heat which allows the material to be cut without harming or changing intrinsic properties. With specialized software and 3-D machining heads, complex shapes can be produced.
Cleaning Tips
There are various ways to clean rubber flooring, but the first step is always to get rid of loose dust, dirt, and debris. You can do this by sweeping, vacuuming, or using a leaf blower.
Steam Cleaning – Steam cleaning is the most effective method for cleaning rubber flooring. It naturally disinfects and revitalizes the surface without relying on harsh chemicals. Additionally, this technique dries quickly, reducing the risk of water spots. For smaller areas, a residential steam mop works well, while larger areas may require renting or purchasing a commercial-sized steam cleaner.
Damp Mopping / Scrubbing – Damp mopping or scrubbing is the most common method for cleaning rubber flooring. For optimal results, use a stiff-bristled scrub brush with a handle instead of a mop, as mops tend to leave behind fuzz or debris.
When damp mopping or scrubbing, use distilled white vinegar once or twice a week for the first six weeks. This not only cleans and disinfects the floor but also helps reduce the rubber odor. Cleaning with warm vinegar or other liquid solutions is even more effective.
After six weeks, you can transition to an all-natural citrus-based cleaner, such as a concentrated lemon or orange cleaner, which works exceptionally well.
Most importantly, avoid any cleaning products that contain petroleum, bleach, or wax. Petroleum- and bleach-based cleaners can dry out and degrade the rubber over time, while wax-based cleaners leave a slippery residue that poses a safety hazard.
As with any cleaning product, always test a small area first to ensure it reacts well with the rubber.
Water spots are the most common issue when cleaning rubber flooring, similar to the streaks that can form when washing a black car. To prevent water spots, clean in small sections: scrub the area, squeegee off excess water, and use a fan to speed up the drying process.
Pressure Washing – Pressure washing is the easiest way clean a floor. Simply pressure wash the floor, squeegee off excess water, and set up fans to dry it quickly.
